uNICORN OF CHAMPIONS
One does not simply find a glorious shimmering unicorn chalice and turn it into a trophy of mythical proportions. The unicorn chalice knows it's fate and morphs into that trophy of mythical proportions.
Born out of a dark corner in the dusty garage at the Double D Ranch in Sisters, Oregon, this rare unicorn was given a second chance at life following the 2016 tournament. The Unicorn of Champions now proudly bears the names of each of the past SJ+S champions and holds special powers amongst tournament regulars.
To quote urban dictionary, "A unicorn is the rare creature who is able to give you the thing you always wanted but thought you could never have." The same can be said about winning the SJ+S tournament, as any of the following rare unicorns can attest.

2020
CHAMPION: Pete Shockley
JUL 30-AUG 2, 2020
2020 was a year of many firsts. Our first-ever remote rounds & zoom based call-in point situations provided proof of the tourney’s perseverance amidst a global pandemic. Team Stroganoff (Pete/Pat/Luke/Chris) emerged victorious over Team Sandjobs (Norbert/Nabil/Max/Matt) thanks to a monster tally of team points on Sunday to take home the first ever SJ+S team title.
But if we’re getting down to brass tacks, 2020 was really the year of Pete ‘The Mountain’ Shockley. Pete summited what some call the biggest mountain in the world in order to etch his name onto the Unicorn of Champions.
DIVOC the sand-goddess came out of hiding this year and pulled the strings throughout the weekend (per usual) to ensure the best man went home with the unicorn. Pete recorded a record-shattering 17.5 pt day on dadurday, which was a sign of what was to come for the future family man. Plaid has truly never looked better on future dad.
2019
CHAMPION: MANNY ARCEO
AUG 1-4, 2019
In a tournament that will be remembered for many reasons, Manny Arceo survived a juggernaut of random points, Hi-Viz noods, Dadurday dominance and the pressures of being the favorite to win his second consecutive Unicorn.
2018
CHAMPION: MANNY ARCEO
AUG 2-5, 2018
The tournament that sees everything, saw what it had never seen before through the dominating performance of Manny Arceo. It was a performance for the ages by one of the tournament’s rising young stars. It was Arceo’s as soon as the staff at Neskowin commented that we were the most polite, well behaved, coolest and most skillful soccer players they had ever seen. Sound like anyone to you? They chose our champion before we even knew it.

2014

A tournament like no other saw amazing scenes across central Oregon. We saw a local champion and the first ever dad to claim the coveted plaid jacket, a true inspiration.
