Sandjobs + Stroganoff Tournament returns for 7th Edition

Tierra Del Mar, Oregon –

The golfing world will once again fixate this weekend on what has come to be known as the fairest unfair major in golf. 8 to 12 participants with varying levels of commitment, availability and dedication to the tournament will compete over 4 days along the vaunted Oregon Coast.

This year’ participants might be (in order of Sandjobs seniority):

Chris Wilson, Pat Rice, Matt Wilhelmsen, Nabil Zerizef, Max Schuetze, Curran O’Brien, Leigh Calvert, Luke Erickson, Pete Schockley, Manny Arceo, Chase McPherson, Kevin Pollack, Chance McPherson.

Play will begin on Thursday afternoon in the costal enclave of Neskowin. The participants will be instantly jolted into coastal life with this seaside-ish 9-hole track. The tournament, in its never-ending search for perfection, has rolled the dice to put it, and its participants, far from the manicured fairways and perfect weather of Bend, OR. In this spirit, the competition will be adding Footgolf to the tournament for the first time in its history. Following standard IOC procedures for any sport being added, Footgolf is has gone through a rigorous trial period and the SJ+S committee is confident it’s addition will: “add the sport that brings the two most beautiful games together to our time-honored tradition”

The tournament house where all participants will be provided with 3 days of isolation from external media, personal and internet attention and distraction will be located in the hamlet of Tierra Del Mar adjacent to the Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area and beach.

Friday will take the tournament to Salishan Resort and Spa. Despite the allure of massages and essential oil treatments, this could be the most testing day of the tournament. While Thursday serves as an appetizer, Friday will likely be the day where the tournament favorites begin to organize at the top of the leaderboard(now online).

The Sandjobs + Stroganoff tournament then heads north to christen a new Dadurday host, Alderbook Golf Club for Saturday’s competition. Our local expert, PJ Rice suggest edit because of “the American flag that is bigger than any of our greens”. Clearly, this is an ideal place for Dadurday with its principles in place and well defined.

The inevitable showdown on Sunday for this year’s Plaid Jacket will take place at Chehalem Glenn GC in Newberg, OR. It was an interesting choice by the tournament committee, clearly giving up on its coastal theme in favor of taking advantage of the opportunities within the larger media market of Newberg for ticket sales, sponsorship and media coverage, all crucial to growing its local and international fanbase.

The tournament has entered the digital age and can be followed throughout at: https://www.sandjobsandstroganoff.com/
